What is Kairos

Kairos refers to, speaking in terms of its uses in rhetoric, the effect that is generated by adding a sense of urgency and/or particular relevancy to a given subject matter by way of appeals to the audience's sensibilities, most notably anxiety and fear, or more optimistically, to the positive impact a given subject matter could have on present or near future events or states of being. This is, of course, reliant upon seizing the moment (in the true sense of Kairos) when the most prescient and advantageous oppurtunity presents itself.
